however if we thought of it properly we could've named ourselves ACE Productions but as we completed our logo to a good standard we kept with the original title. The role of a production company is to decide the story and characters, allocate actors and actresses to the roles, find the right locations, set up lighting, microphones and cameras and basically make and produce the movie.
I got the inspiration for our logo from Dreamworks- as it was portrayed to be like their films were a 'dream' and 'up in the clouds' so to speak- I used this metaphor for inspiration and then transformed that into a space theme so that it would convey our films were 'out of this world' by using solar space as a representation of this.
The idea of a film Distributor and who that might be and why.
MGM was the main distributor that the James Bond films were distributed by. Due to the action thriller genre and similar codes and conventions to the storyline, this would most likely be the best option for my film as it would fit the distribution company's history with films they have distributed.
Production companies can get funding from many different organisations such as the BFI, charities, national and regional screen agencies etc. However due to the low budget independent british film that we have made, it would most likely get the funding from charities as it would be the most likely organisation that would be interested in funding our film due to the genre and storyline.
In a title sequence, it is always known that the director comes at the beginning and at the end of the sequence, the main actors and actresses come next and then the rest of the crew come after them. I have found this to be true from many title sequences such as 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo', 'James Bond Casino Royale' and 'Catch me if you can'. Based upon this research I have followed suit with how I ordered the names within my title sequence.
What your film is similar to 'institutionally' (name some films which would be released in a similar way)
-You need to refer to actual company names and processes so you will need to go back to the early posts on film companies and maybe do a bit more research
