Question 6: blog and shoot/edit screen grabs
This was easier than doing motion tracking as the colours weren't contrasting enough to allow the text to stay on a certain point.
However, the mask tool was a lot easier as I had to draw a template around the character and then expand it as he walked so that the text gradually disappeared.
I learnt to use this software through help of a teacher and other students in my class and the upper year, but mainly through youtube tutorials that allowed me to learn all the important parts I would need to edit my text onto my video.
Final Cut Pro:

iMovie:

Youtube:

Blogger:

Overall the amount of software I have used through this project have been numerous but I have learnt a lot by completing different set tasks we were given to test our skills and knowledge. I am confident with youtube, blogger, final cut pro and imovie and I am adequately skilled with after effects but still have room for much improvement.
EQUIPMENT
Camera:

Tripod:
This helped us keep our shots steady in the first shoot however during our second shoot we were given the wrong tripod meaning we used the tripod as the height but had to try and keep the camera steady ourselves. We learnt from this mistake to check the camera fits onto the tripod correctly before we hire it out.

Question 5: Prezi/ Blog with Video
this is the final video with annotations explaining the genre conventions, music and effects, use of characters and the stories, similarities with other movies and our unique selling point.
this video shows 18 year olds saying what they expect in a thriller and what their favourite thriller films were; this helped us in incorporating what the generation expects and likes from this genre of film: mystery, suspense, action etc.

Question 4: Audience Profile
Based upon my audience research in my planning and research section it revealed that action thriller films such as our film would entice both genders in the audience from 18-29 years of age however there would be a higher percentage in the male viewings than the female viewings.
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Shops: Topman?
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Shops: Topman?
Taste in music: Indie, Rock etc (not pop)
Favourite TV programme: Family Guy, the inbetweeners
Taste in films: Action, Thriller, Comedy and Horror films
Independent or Mainstream films: most likely mainstream due to the popular advertising
They would most likely be interested in watching my film as it is an action thriller and conforms to the usual stereotypes and conventions of these genres such as the woman turning against the male colleague, the man going undercover etc.
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Shops: H&M, New Look, Primark
Taste in music: anything except screemo
Favourite TV programme: Supernatural, True Blood
Independent or Mainstream films: mixture of both
Even though due to research women are included in the audience, younger women from 18-22 are likely to watch the film due to superficial reasons such as the look of the actors and not the content of the film, however from around 23-29 they would go for the content of the film so I think our film will likely draw in their interest.

Question 3: Director's commentary
Our production company name was based upon the first letter of each of my group's forename's
E: emily C: cammie A: anna
however if we thought of it properly we could've named ourselves ACE Productions but as we completed our logo to a good standard we kept with the original title. The role of a production company is to decide the story and characters, allocate actors and actresses to the roles, find the right locations, set up lighting, microphones and cameras and basically make and produce the movie.
I got the inspiration for our logo from Dreamworks- as it was portrayed to be like their films were a 'dream' and 'up in the clouds' so to speak- I used this metaphor for inspiration and then transformed that into a space theme so that it would convey our films were 'out of this world' by using solar space as a representation of this.
The idea of a film Distributor and who that might be and why.
MGM was the main distributor that the James Bond films were distributed by. Due to the action thriller genre and similar codes and conventions to the storyline, this would most likely be the best option for my film as it would fit the distribution company's history with films they have distributed.
Production companies can get funding from many different organisations such as the BFI, charities, national and regional screen agencies etc. However due to the low budget independent british film that we have made, it would most likely get the funding from charities as it would be the most likely organisation that would be interested in funding our film due to the genre and storyline.
In a title sequence, it is always known that the director comes at the beginning and at the end of the sequence, the main actors and actresses come next and then the rest of the crew come after them. I have found this to be true from many title sequences such as 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo', 'James Bond Casino Royale' and 'Catch me if you can'. Based upon this research I have followed suit with how I ordered the names within my title sequence.
What your film is similar to 'institutionally' (name some films which would be released in a similar way)
-You need to refer to actual company names and processes so you will need to go back to the early posts on film companies and maybe do a bit more research

Evaluation Question 2
Our film's slogan was 'Jason Bourne meets James Bond' which meant that we were incorporating both the story lines but also the characters.
As you can see from the left hand photo we stylised our male characters in the way James Bond is dressed as it is a usual association and stereotype of an action thriller film. The picture on the right shows how we used the location/ setting as our inspiration: out of the way outside location.
The picture on the left shows Leonardo DiCaprio as Cobb in the film Inception wearing a suit and tie holding a gun; the psychological action thriller movie incorporates his character as a highly specialised business man in the art of infiltrating a person's mind to extract information needed by the highest bidder.
The picture on the right shows Kyle Woodman as Matt in our film Double Agent wearing a suit and tie; our action thriller incorporates his character as an undercover agent working to get information from high end drug dealers.
Our character is similar in more ways to the character out of inception due to both costume and character profiles but also their roles in the films clearly displayed in the descriptions above.
